Our family therapy services are based upon the conviction that “family” represents the most important soil in our lives.

Few people would deny the power of the family. Families are the soil in which we grow and develop as persons, for better or for worse. For all of us, our current family and/or living situation heavily influences how we experience our day-to-day lives.

Families in our culture are currently experiencing tremendous pressure from several directions—the pressure of finances, the pressure to achieve, the social pressure to be accepted. For many families, task accomplishment is more important than relationship building. Calendars are filled but family life is empty. In this pressured context, adversities can tend to break families apart rather than bring them together. Due to the influence of difficult family relationships from the past and family pressures in the present, far too many families are fracturing under the weight of all they face.

Our family therapy services are based upon the conviction that “family” represents the most important soil in our lives. Families sometimes represent rich soil that helps people flourish and sometimes they represent depleted soil that hinders growth. We emphasize grace for the negative ways adults have been influenced by their families of origin. We stress a “no blame” perspective that recognizes that our parents had parents who influenced them. At the same time, we encourage taking responsibility for what is currently taking place in a family in such a way that the future is freed from the past.

Our goal is to come alongside and support your current family relationships in such a way that our family therapy services help make your family, and the individuals within your family, flourish.
