The Pursuit of Our Vision

We pursue our vision particularly for the sake of reaching those who have the fewest resources and who are in the greatest need.

We have a vision of our mission reaching those who have the fewest resources and who are in the greatest need because Jesus did.  Jesus declared his mission to reach those who have the fewest resources who are in the greatest need:  The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor (Luke 4:18-19 NIV).

The gospel narratives of the earthly life of Jesus show him constantly concerned about, being deeply moved by, and meeting the needs of the materially poor, the poor in spirit, those in grief and mourning, those harassed and helpless, those in the bondage of sin, those crippled, blind, or lame, those who are hungry, those who are oppressed or possessed, those who are imprisoned, those who are ill or injured, those who are the least of our brothers and sisters.  Because of Jesus’ example, so will we be concerned about, be deeply moved by, and meet the needs of those same individuals.

The Purpose of Our Vision

We pursue our vision for the sake of a single purpose.

Everything we do in our ministry points to a single purpose:  To assist the Spirit-driven process that forms Christ in people’s lives.  As God’s fulfills our mission, as we march toward “the availability and accessibility of Christ empowered, highly trained counseling in every church,” God will increasingly empower the church to better assist the Spirit-driven process that forms Christ in people’s lives.

The Spreading of Our Vision

We pray that passion for our vision will spread far beyond our ministry.

We believe that God has not only called us to a ministry, He has called us to a movement.  We long to be used by God to fuel the fire of a church-based counseling movement that will sweep across the globe, leading to the availability and accessibility of Christ empowered, highly trained counseling in every church.
