The specialized purpose of the “At the Well Fund” (AWF) is to help those individuals seeking Christian counseling in situations where the combination of their insurance coverage and their financial resources does not make our services affordable.
This may be a situation where the insurance coverage involves an extremely high deductible or extremely low benefits or does not cover our services at Formation Counseling Services, combined with a lack of financial resources. These are non-contracted or “out-of-network” insurance situations.
One hundred percent of the money donated to the ATW fund is used to help people afford our services.
The ATW fund is solely supported by donations to our ministry. Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church (HCPC) is a generous financial supporter of this fund, as are individuals within HCPC, members of the staff of FCS, and individuals throughout the City of Albuquerque and beyond.
It is important that potential donors know that we serve our mission at a time (in terms of the healthcare climate) when the cost of providing services is often higher than the income they generate. This means we need your help to fulfill our calling to minister to persons regardless of the level of their financial resources.
The AWF fund was named after the story in the Bible (John 4:4-26) where Jesus transformed a woman’s life through a simple conversation at a well.
The goal of the AWF fund is to give those seeking Christian counseling the opportunity to have that kind of transforming conversation through our Christian counseling services. It applies to situations where a person’s insurance and their lack of financial resources would ordinarily require them to obtain services that do not include Christian counseling.
